What will young people learn?

• The A-Z values cards - with their local youth leader, young people will engage with: wondering questions, an activity and a takeaway activity. This is usually facilitated in a small group setting with their youth leader, please speak to your local youth leader about who will be involved in the young leaders training. You can also see a sample of the training here:

• Leading locally – young people will have the opportunity to lead locally. There will be a variety of opportunities for the young people to try from helping set up, to planning and running a game. These locally led opportunities will be discussed with the young leaders. If you want to know what types of things your child will be involved with, please speak to your local leader.

• Residentials and Away Days – as part of the Young Leader Labyrinth there are additional training Away Days and Residentials which support the young people in their leadership journey and gives an opportunity to dig a bit deeper into who they are as leaders as well as learning some of the skills of youthwork. To find out what is involved in the residentials and away day please ask your local leader to see example programmes.

• Leading Regionally – if the young people want to continue their youth leaders’ journey there will also be the opportunity to lead regionally. This may be with another youth group, locally but in a different setting, on a summer camp or at regional youth events. Please speak to your local youth worker for more information.

• Safety first! The Young Leader Labyrinth is devised to be facilitated by youth workers or other individuals who have been safer recruited and checked for working with young people.
